The Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) is an annual motorcycle race held on the Isle of Man, a self-governing British Crown Dependency in the Irish Sea between Great Britain and Ireland. First held in 1907, the TT is one of the most prestigious and dangerous motorcycle races in the world, and has been called the “most dangerous race in the world.” The TT course is a 37.73-mile (60.72 km) mountain circuit that winds its way through the island’s countryside, and riders reach speeds of up to 200 mph (320 km/h) on some sections of the course.
The TT has a long and storied history, and has been won by some of the greatest motorcycle racers of all time, including Mike Hailwood, Giacomo Agostini, and Joey Dunlop. The race has also been the site of some of the most tragic accidents in motorcycle racing history, and more than 250 riders have died while competing in the TT. Despite the dangers, the TT remains one of the most popular motorcycle races in the world, and attracts tens of thousands of spectators each year.
