The team has appeared in 24 bowl games, won five Big Ten Conference Championships and claims two national championships (1914 and 1927) although these are not recognized by the NCAA, which began recognizing national champions in 1936. Memorial Stadium has been the team’s home field since 1923.
The 2025 Illinois Fighting Illini football schedule has not yet been released, but the team is expected to play its home games at Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Illinois. The Fighting Illini are coming off a 9-4 season in 2022 and are looking to improve on that record in 2023. The team has a number of talented players returning, including quarterback Tommy DeVito and running back Chase Brown. The Fighting Illini are hoping to make a run at the Big Ten Championship in 2023 and earn a berth in a New Year’s Six bowl game.
